Starbucks Copycat Chocolate Protein Foam Cold Brew

Starbucks now has a protein cold foam and I love seeing more protein-forward options on menus.
But if you’re like me and prefer:
- Organic milk and coffee
- No “natural flavors”
- No gums or fillers
- High-quality protein powder
Then this homemade version is for you.
This healthier copycat Starbucks chocolate protein foam is thick, fluffy, chocolatey, and made with just a handful of real ingredients you can feel good about.
It tastes indulgent, like a chocolate milk cloud melting into cold brew, but it’s packed with protein (approx 20g) and completely customizable.
Why Whey Protein Works Best
Whey protein (or a whey blend) creates a much thicker, more stable foam compared to plant-based protein.
It traps air better, which is what gives you that Starbucks-style cloud. If using plant protein, the foam will be lighter and less structured (and chalky!)
Favorite Tools & Ingredients
- High-Quality Chocolate Whey Blend Protein or this Whey Chocolate Protein Powder: Minimal ingredients, no artificial sweeteners, and no “natural flavors”
- Handheld Milk Frother: Creates thick, mousse-like cold foam in seconds

- Organic Maple Syrup: A small drizzle adds natural sweetness without refined syrups
- Glass Mason Jars
Ways To Customize
• Add ¼ tsp vanilla extract for mocha vibes
