Brown Butter Pistachio Rice Krispy Treats

Give your favorite childhood snack a delicious upgrade with these pistachio rice crispy treats! Made with creamy pistachio spread, they add a rich, nutty flavor to the classic, making them the perfect sweet and crunchy treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Treats

  • 4 cups The Real Cereal rice crisps also love these sprouted brown rice crisps
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 10 oz marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup Pistakio spread or another high quality pistachio spread
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • pinch of salt

Topping

  • 1 cup white chocolate baking chips
  • 1/3 cup pistachio spread
  • 1/4 cup roasted and chopped pistachios

Instructions

  • Butter an 8 x 8 baking dish
  • Next add the butter to a large pot and brown the butter over medium heat, stirring constantly, until a deep golden brown color (about 5 minutes)
  • Remove from the heat and add in your marshmallows, stirring until melted
  • Then add in your pistachio spread, vanilla and salt until melted and combined
  • Add your rice crisps and work quickly and mix well
  • Press the mixture into your prepared dish
  • Set aside while you melt your chocolate and Pistakio spread in 20 second increments in the microwave (or you could use a double boiler to melt the chocolate), stirring between each go around. *Be extra cautious, as white chocolate could burn if too high heat in the microwave*
  • Spread evenly over the treats and top with chopped pistachios
  • Let the chocolate set completely before slicing or enjoy right away for a ooey gooey treat!
