Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13 pan.
In a skillet or saucepan, combine figs, maple syrup, vanilla; cook over medium heat until figs break down and juices reduce (about 8–10 min). For chunkier texture, leave some pieces; for smoother, mash lightly or partially blend.
Mix together crust/topping: flour, oats, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, sugar, melted butter.
Press about 2/3 of the oat mixture into the pan as bottom crust. Spread fig filling over. Crumble remaining oat mixture on top.
Bake 25–30 min until top is golden, filling bubbly. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
