Ingredients

Dumpling Filling

  • ½ lb ground pork (traditional) or ground chicken/ turkey (dark meat)
  • 2 cloves garlic grated
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 2 green onions finely sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon chili flakes optional
  • Salt + pepper to taste

Tacos

  • 4 small flour tortillas or street-size
  • Neutral oil for cooking

Quick Dumpling Sauce

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon chili oil
  • ½ teaspoon sesame oil

Toppings

  • Shredded cabbage or slaw mix
  • Shredded carrots
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Green onion
  • Sesame seeds
  • Extra chili oil

Instructions

Make The Filling

  • In a bowl, mix together: Ground meat, Garlic, Ginger, Green onions, Soy sauce, Sesame oil, Rice vinegar, Chili flakes and mix until fully combined.
  • Take a tortilla and spread a thin layer of the dumpling mixture directly onto one side.
  • Press it down evenly...like a thin patty.
  • Heat a pan over medium heat with a little oil.
  • Place the tortilla meat-side down and cook for 3–4 minutes until: meat is cooked through and crispy and golden brown.
  • Then flip and cook the tortilla side for another 1–2 minutes until lightly crisp.

Make The Sauce

  • Whisk together all sauce ingredients in a small bowl.

Assemble

  • Top each taco with toppings of choice: Cabbage or slaw, Carrots, Cilantro, Green Onion, Sesame seeds then drizzle with dumpling sauce and extra chili oil (if desired).
