Frozen Immunity Cubes For Cold & Flu Season

Immunity Cubes

Cold season always seems to sneak up when life feels busiest. Between travel, holidays, and the winter weather, our immune systems can use all the extra love they can get. These Frozen Immunity Cubes are one of my favorite wellness hacks because they pack a powerful combination of anti-inflammatory, antioxidant rich ingredients into a simple, ready to use cube you can just drop into a mug and add hot water. They melt into the most comforting, nourishing drink that feels like a warm hug.

Each cube is made with science backed ingredients that work together to support your body. Coconut milk provides healthy fats that help you absorb fat soluble nutrients, coconut water is rich in electrolytes, ginger and turmeric help lower inflammation, raw honey adds antimicrobial properties, citrus gives a boost of vitamin C, and cinnamon and black pepper enhance the absorption of turmeric. Everything works in synergy, making these immunity cubes one of the easiest and most delicious ways to stay supported all winter long.

Keep a batch in the freezer and you’ll always have a healthy immunity drink ready whenever you need it.

• Add a cube to warm bone broth for a soothing, immune supportive drink
• Blend a cube into a smoothie for an anti inflammatory boost

Immunity Cubes

These Frozen Immunity Cubes blend coconut milk, ginger, turmeric, citrus, honey, and warm spices into a nourishing concentrate you can freeze and melt into hot water anytime you need an immunity boost. Cozy, soothing, and incredibly easy to make.
Prep Time:10 minutes
Cooling Time:12 hours
Total Time:12 hours 10 minutes
Servings: 9

Ingredients

  • 1 can full-fat coconut milk
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 3 raw pieces of ginger peeled
  • 2 teaspoon raw pieces of turmeric peeled
  • 2 lemons sliced
  • 1 orange sliced
  • 2 tablespoons raw honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic minced optional
  • pinch cayenne optional
  • fresh mint optional

Instructions

  • In a blender, add the coconut milk, coconut water, ginger, turmeric, orange, lemon, honey, cinnamon, and black pepper and blend until completely smooth.
  • To remove fibers, strain through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl or large liquid measuring cup with spout.
  • Taste and adjust. Add more citrus for brightness, more honey for sweetness, or more ginger for heat.
  • Pour into silicone ice cube trays with lids. (If not using lids then transfer cubes to a freezer-safe bag once they are frozen or container to prevent freezer burn).
  • Freeze 12 to 24 hours or until solid.
  • To use, place 2-4 cubes in a mug and pour boiling hot water over them. Stir until melted and sip slowly.
  • As an immunity shot: Let 1-2 ice cubes melt in a glass overnight in the fridge. Stir to incorporate ingredients, then take as a shot.
  • As an iced drink: Place 2-3 ice cubes in a glass and pour water or coconut water over. Let the ice cubes melt a bit to incorporate, then enjoy.
  • In a smoothie: Drop 1-2 ice cubes into a blender with your favorite fruits, veggies, and other ingredients, then blend as usual. Note: works best in tropical flavored smoothies.

Notes
