Why You’ll Love This Strawberry Syrup
- Made with real strawberries (fresh or frozen work!)
- Naturally vibrant and flavorful — nothing artificial
- Ridiculously versatile — use on breakfast, desserts, or drinks
- Quick & easy — ready in under 20 minutes
Ingredients You’ll Need:
- Fresh strawberries
- Water
- Organic cane sugar or honey
- Lemon juice (brightens up the flavor)
How To Properly Clean Strawberries
Strawberries are part of the EWG’s “Dirty Dozen,” meaning they’re one of the most pesticide-contaminated fruits, even after rinsing with water. To safely clean them, sprinkle your strawberries with baking soda, gently rub to lift away dirt and pesticide residues, then rinse thoroughly with cold water. Baking soda helps break down chemicals and bacteria naturally, giving you cleaner, safer berries to enjoy.
Ways To Use It:
- Swirl into sparkling water for a homemade strawberry soda
- Spoon over vanilla ice cream, pancakes, or waffles
- Shake into cocktails for a fruity twist
- Drizzle on yogurt or oatmeal bowls
- Layer into strawberry matcha lattes (my favorite!)
Why Homemade > Store Bought
Most store-bought syrups are loaded with high-fructose corn syrup, artificial colors, and preservatives. When you make it yourself, you get all the flavor with none of the junk plus, it’s way more delicious and fun.
