These smashed dumpling tacos are crispy, juicy, and packed with bold dumpling flavor. Made with a savory dumpling-style filling, pan-seared tortillas, and fresh toppings, this viral recipe is quick, customizable, and perfect for an easy weeknight meal.
Ingredients
Dumpling Filling
- ½ lb ground pork (traditional) or ground chicken/ turkey (dark meat)
- 2 cloves garlic grated
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
- 2 green onions finely sliced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- ½ teaspoon chili flakes optional
- Salt + pepper to taste
Tacos
- 4 small flour tortillas or street-size
- Neutral oil for cooking
Quick Dumpling Sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 teaspoon chili oil
- ½ teaspoon sesame oil
Toppings
- Shredded cabbage or slaw mix

Instructions
Make The Filling

- Take a tortilla and spread a thin layer of the dumpling mixture directly onto one side.
- Press it down evenly…like a thin patty.
- Heat a pan over medium heat with a little oil.
- Place the tortilla meat-side down and cook for 3–4 minutes until: meat is cooked through and crispy and golden brown.
- Then flip and cook the tortilla side for another 1–2 minutes until lightly crisp.
Make The Sauce
- Whisk together all sauce ingredients in a small bowl.
Assemble
